In the Home Stretch

So.  Remember back a few weeks ago when Peeps talked about going shopping with his mom?  And how she signed a contract and put a down payment on the adorable little place just up the street (and around the corner, up another street, and around two more corners) from us?

Yup, well, the closing is Monday!

Of course, we don’t know WHAT TIME it is, or even WHERE.  Since  there’s no bank involved, it’s got to be at either OUR attorney’s office or THEIR attorney’s office – but, evidently, no one quite knows exactly.  I mean, how complicated can this be?  We’ve already simplified the whole transaction by cutting out one lawyer . . . yet they STILL have to keep everyone guessing until the last minute.  Pfft.  Lawyers.

So Mom is coming into to town Friday afternoon, spending the weekend in Surly Boy‘s room (again), Peeps is off work on Monday, and, I don’t know, I guess they’ll wander around town looking for the closing!  Then she heads back out on Tuesday to go home, finish packing and, hopefully, sell the old-and-busted house without too much problem.

We’ve Google-mapped the distance between our house and Mom’s new house – it’s 0.8 miles – an easy walk – even for Mr. Limpy!
